4 Step Morning Routine for a Better Day

Since the pandemic (and no more hour-long commutes), I’ve gotten time back in the morning and have gotten *really* serious about my self-care morning routine. It’s been a game-changer. I’m more intentional and grounded, less stressed and anxious, and I have more energy and positivity.

My morning routine for a better day:

1. Wake up, make coffee, go to my  "cozy corner" in my living room, where I pull a card from one of my affirmation decks, use it to set my intention for the day, and journal for a few minutes on it. I use Louise Hay’s “Power Affirmations” card deck and Gabby Bernstein’s “Super Attractor” cards.

2. Read a few pages of spiritual teachings. Right now, I’m reading Deepak Chopra’s “The Book of Secrets” and Esther and Jerry Hicks, “The Law of Attraction.”

3. 5-15 minutes of gentle Yoga, depending on time, to work out tightness and joint pain.

4. Meditate for 10 minutes, getting quiet, calming my swirling thoughts, and turning inwards.
